Any experience with this radio and BestBuy installations?

Also while there I thought I could upgrade the speakers with a set of POLK 6 1/2 speakers, Any experience with them? Does it makes sense or should I keep the ones that came with the car.

Any alternatives to the SONY will also be appreciated...

Thanks ... Pablo
Well, I don't have any personal experience with that head unit, but as long as it does what it says it is supposed to, it seems like a decent deal. I'm not too big of a fan of Sony head units, the DACs they run seem to make music sound tinny to me, but if you aren't an audiophile, it should do the trick. I do like the integrated iPod tray, though, definitely unique. I would suggest listening to it and comparing it to other units before committing to a purchase, just to be sure. You never know, you might end up not liking it as much once you try it out. When it comes to digital media receivers, my biggest point of contention is how easy the music menu is to use and browse through. Having an iPod with 5,000 songs connected to your head unit sounds great, unless that head unit takes 45 seconds just to find the particular song you are wanting to listen to.

As far as Best Buy installs go, they can be hit or miss. Personally, I wouldn't let them install a battery in my remote for my head unit, let alone the whole thing, but that is just personal preference. I've found that it is much more beneficial to develop a close relationship with a reputable auto mod/install shop as you will get more quality work and know you can trust them when you deal with them regularly.

Just my two pennies.
