Ok, I got the little bugger off with a 13 mm socket with a little crazy glue on the rim. This was my first method but I was using a tired tube of glue and a 10mm socket so it didn't work. You have to hold the 10mm in place, the 13mm fits snug.

Next question. How does the top of the pedal unhook? Thanks

P.S. The above washer removal method has to be the easiest way available. Just put a really small amount of super glue on the rim of the socket. Lower it in, wait a while and pull it out.
