Guess you have to weigh whether to do a weekend so the locals will go and not have to use vacation, or the Tue-Wed-Thu for the distance runners so that they only have to take one week of vacation. Like John stated, there are a lot of events to chose from and I was going to give up Carlisle for Colorado.....but not if I have to use two weeks to do it.
Another issue with wekend GTG's is that you must compete for venues. There will be many local and out of town visitors using the same venues for their holidays.
Week days, you have fewer Wenabagos at the activity sites and pulloffs.
That said, some will like the week end schedules and make it work.
I'm there for either as we will take off Thursday to arrive Saturday (Late Friday nite) and get started having a whale of a good time. Our plans are to continue north to Yellowstone and spend time in the great North West.
And, on the chance they will still accept US money in Canada next summer, maybe some time there.
One Crossie in all that travel, I will need a fat Credit card.
