Have you tried lowering the rubber bumpers on the trunk lid? You need a star wrench to make the adjustment. After I lowered mine it totally eliminated the rattle I was experiencing.
It doesn't seem to be from there but I suppose I should how a go at it to remove it from my possible causes list.
