Default Re: needs some quick help from the masters

Back when the dealerships fixed my ignition switch, they messed up my interior. At the time I was not aware of this common problem and neither were they (this was maybe 4 years ago). I got my car back and the interior paint around the ignition switch was all messed up along with my center console. My only guess is that they sat in my car with a cell phone attached to their belt. I also remember visiting my car in the dealership and seeing my whole interior in pieces. SO it doesn't shock me in the least that they didn't put your car back together correctly. I have been down this road with Chrylser dealerships MANY OF TIMES!

After the ignition fix, I wanted new panels but the dealership paid for a guy to come and paint my interior. They said if I wasn't happy with the work they would order me new panels. Turns out the guy did a fabulous job and it has held up over the years.

Bottom line.... when the dealership or a local shop touches the interior of our cars it will get messed up.... unless you work on the car yourself. You will spend a lifetime (like I did) bringing the car back in the shop having them fix the problems they caused. I could sit and tell you horror stories of what they did to my car but you wouldn't have enough time to read them all. My experience would make your jaw drop! So your experience and this thread doesn't shock me in the least.
