John - that blows!!! The problem with e-mail is that people can take certain things wrong & get bent out of shape. I don't think there was anything wrong with your e-mail to them, but I know that you are a nice guy suggesting an improvement that would help them sell more product. If he was having a bad day, has a guilty conscience, just got screamed at by another customer for the same issue or is just an a-hole then he may have taken the e-mail in another way. Of course his response has no shades of grey.

As far as Vegaslegal goes, I know what its like to be in your shoes. I do sub-prime auto finance for a living. For those playing the home game I get to be hated by people who hate car dealers, sub-prime lenders, collectors and bankers. One more & I will have a full house of hatred. I once worked for a guy at a dealership who had an interesting way of looking at the car business (his theory is not MY theory). He would say,"Its ok to be a thief and a liar but you don't have to be a JERK about it!"

At the end of the day the guy at Grill Tech was a JERK. The old saying is that a happy customer tells 2 people but an unhappy one tells 10. Well John, I think you may have kicked that up a notch & they didn't even get to take your money! It's nice to know that the aftermarket grill business is flourishing so much that they are able to turn away business!! Maybe our government officials should give those guys a call & find out how they pulled it out of the fire with just a niche business. Financial geniuses - those Grill Tech guys!!!
