Re: What made you buy your Crossfire
I saw them in the local Chrysler dealer's lot several years ago (2005?) and thought they were the coolest car I had ever seen. Talked to the salesman a little bit. I would look at them every time I passed the Chrysler lot. My previous sports cars were a 2004 350Z, a 2002 BMW Z3M coupe, a 1980 Mazda RX7, and a 1978 Datsun 280Z.
I have been driving a Ford Expedition full time ever since a drunk totaled the 350Z 6 years ago.
A year ago I got on Edmunds.com and started pricing used 350Zs, Mcoupes etc... and I thought I would check the Crossfire. I couldn't believe how little they were selling for. I then lost interest for awhile.
Then about two months ago I priced them again on Edmunds.com and was shocked at the current prices. At Edmunds I priced 2005 Base, 10,000 miles, Mercedes drivetrain, German assembled, 215 HP, 3,000 pounds, $9,100 private party! What a DEAL! Immediately I shopped for one locally and on ebay. A friend of mine had and has one for sale but he didn't and doesn't really want to sell it. The one in San Antonio popped up on ebay and I decided that I could buy it on the Ebay auction and fly to San Antonio for not much and check it and the seller out before I let go of the cashier's check and that is what I did. Everything was good. I had a great time driving it back to Amarillo. Had it up to 145 on the trip back on a stretch of little traveled pavement between Ozona and Lamesa.
Sorry to be so windy.
