Well, after removing those two plastic pieces... I replaced that 1 1/2 by 1" opening.. .with a 2 and 1/2 " diameter flexible tubing that ties
directly into the stock SRT air intake (also 2 1/2")... so that it is 2 1/2 all the way through... no 'choking off' the air supply just to get past
the radiator support piece... and on the front end I used a plumbing supply 4inch- 2 1/2 reducer... only in this case an increaser!... to
effect the new 'ram air' approach. This works great behind the grill supplied by SRT Six Karl... thanks! Not sure if it would fit as well
behind a stock grille... and certainly would not have the intake effect that is supplied by the more-open grillwork by Karl.
Anyway.. thought I'd share...
btw... less than $20
