I'm not sure if anybody knows of this event but it is the event that inspired the Cannonball Run movies, and in fact, is the legitimatized version of the Cannonball Run.

It happens every year and this year, one of the winners was a 2005 Chrysler 300C/SRT-8.

I've always wanted to go do it, lasts for a week, and because it is legitimate now and they discourage highway racing, there are time-trials on a bunch of tracks along the route which also serve as checkpoints.

Great way to see the country (in a blur), drive on some great tracks and hang out with other car enthusiasts.

Anybody interested in 2006?
