As an A4 and an A6 owner, Audis do not hold value as well as BMW or Mercedes. But I love my A6 2.7T and my Crossies. The TT series, especially the roadsters, are beautiful cars but expensive. I think the 3.2 goes in the $40-50s so the RS could be even more. Remember these are also quattros.
I will agree that the new Audi TT is a very good looking car, but I have to also admit that the previous "squashed VW" looking TTs were some of the ugliest sports cars I've ever seen Really, all they did was smash a VW Beetle a bit to get the older TT styling. Or, so it would have appeared.
Folks used to call the VW Beetle a pregnant roller skate. I used to figure the VW was about 8 to nine months, while the TT was around 4 to 6 months. Never could understand why a man would want to be seen behind the wheel of a old style TT.
Just my opinion, probably not even worth $0.02.
