Default Re: SRT-6 vs Audi TTRS

Audis are nice cars when they are not broken. The problem is that they break often, and they are RIDICULOUSLY expensive to repair. I live in Colorado and there are Audis everywhere. Accompanying every Audi owner who is out of warranty is a litany of sob stories about how much they cost to keep running. This is why the resale on Audis is terrible. As soon as the warranty is up, smart people dump them. Dumb people wait until they get hit with one huge repair bill. Really dumb people wait longer. Buying used is Russian Roulette with a six shooter when five chambers are full.

A friend of mine who owned two Audis and who is the biggest Audi fan I have ever met, recently finally gave up on his Allroad and his TT. Even he finally admitted there is some bad juju in those cars when they get past 80K miles or so.

Look up the Allroad airbag suspension issues for just one example. The Audi engineers were absolutely brain dead when they designed a suspension system designed to be used in mild offroad and bad weather situations, but the airbags are easily punctured by gravel, and the sensors and motors are susceptible to moisture! H-E-L-L-O? The resale on an Allroad is lower than a Subaru Outback of similar age and mileage even though they were twice as expensive new.
