Just an update, my 2X steering stabalizer parts arrived the other day, at $20 each from JT Outfitters I figured I might as well have a spare, and I installed one of them yesterday.

Easiest thing in the world, jacked the front up, two bolts, no access issues.

Very noticable improvement in steering stability, and when you have the part in your hand you can easily feel the difference between the old and new piston stiffness.

I am not going back to the Chrysler dealer after this experience, clearly they will rip me off without compunction, I still can't believe they were going to charge me $750 for a $20 part and 5 minutes labour!

By the way, if there are any mechanically minded Crossfire enthusiasts in Tucson who'd be interested in the odd bit of paid work on my car from time to time, feel free to introduce yourself...
