In early '04 there was a rash of Michelin PS2 failures on our Crossfires. Happened to me rolling down the tollway. I was trailing a thin wisp of smoke before the tire sensor kicked on. Cut that tire off the rim before I got the car into a safe place to pull over and wait for the tow truck. I actually noticed people backing way off from me before I noticed the smoke.

I had checked the tire inflation about an hour previous as I was taking it for its first long ride. Couldn't have had 4K on the tires yet. I still run PS2s for the summer. It was just an anomaly and I happened to get lucky. Probably scared the folks trailing me more than it did me.
