Didn't you just buy this?

As far as the warranty, I don't believe it is transferable from one owner to the other if it is a Chrysler manufacturer warranty -- but maybe on this car I'm wrong. I have another Chrysler and the extended powertrain warranty is only good for the original owner -- which really sucks but that's the way it is applied by Chrysler.

I don't expect a dealer will run a diagnostics for free but usually if you go there and pay the fee, they will apply the cost of the diagnostics to any work you need to get done.

I'm no mechanic, but it sounds like it might be the transmission shift solenoid.
