I have the 8yr/80000 ml limited powertrain warranty on my vert,which I bought with 50 mls on the clock, and it is issued by a 5 star Chrysler dealer, on a certified used car (which all SRT6's were classed as).
I don't know about whether it can be transferred, but if you call1-800-5219922, they will give you info on the limited warranty.
If you can transfer it, I'm sure it will cover the transmission issue.
