Don't you have any recourse or aggrement with the dealer you bought it from to address such issues since you just bought it? Even if it's an as / is purchase, there may be some protective state laws for the consumer. Have you checked with them to see if they would analyze and fix the issues -- especially if it's simple fixes (keeping fingers crossed)?

They should do the right thing. It wouldn't surprise me if they knew this was an issue and didn't disclose it. Intermittent issues always screw the consumer. Also, the web can be a good tool for retribution.
