Yes you got that right my pride is well gone when i couldnt even over take a camry.. It seems to be engaging 50% of the time and seems to engage more often if i feather the throttle. From higher speeds no sc at all

Yup, sounds like it's time for a new IC Pump. It won't hurt anything driving it except for your pride.
. Also check fuse#13 before you replace the pump just to make sure it's not the fuse.
