285 rears would probably be the limit. Its the gap between inner wall and Shock Absorber you have to watch. Also consider, as you go up in width, you also go up in diameter, which is a percentage of width. Thats why I went for 275, which fills the rim width spot on.
Be careful with fronts. Even standard 225's are on 0.5 inch away from top suspension arm. When I fitted 235's my rims are an inch wider than standard and the gap is now 0.25 inches!
I think 235 on standard rims is risky!
