The two plastic bumpstops on the sides of the hatch with the "grooved teeth" have started etching the paint on the gutter of the car, so i the soft part of the Velcro adhesive to the gutter area where the paint dug down to the bare metal. This should give the hatch a soft rest spot, and stop the digging of my paint.

Also, i wrapped black electric tape about 5 times around the "striker bar" and my problem seems to have been fixed.
