Re: FML!!! Three diffs and a driveshaft in one year! GRRR
I was thinking about this on the way into work this morning. when I punch the car at 40-50mph, getting it to downshift to 2nd and just take off, I notice that the rear end moves back and forth. Imagine the right rear trying to out run the left rear. I am not talking a loss of traction and associated fish tailing, just one side of the rear end trying to go faster than the other (forward flex). Could this flex in the 5 link rear suspension be a major contributing factor in the diff's granading themselves? The diff is getting major rotational stress from the driveshaft and what I perceive as major lateral stress from the flex in the suspension control links.
thoughts?
