It's a trade off, you either have a battery that stores a lot of power or you have one that has a higher cca. It all depends on the number of plates in each cell. More plates equals higher cca, less plates equal more reserve capacity.
The OEM Varta battery had around 640cca, with a reserve capacity of 150 minutes. This was a good battery and more than adequate for the task.

Light weight batteries do not store much power, they cannot because there is no mass to store the power. The heavier the battery the more power it can store.

like i said, i prefer the napa legend 84 over the oem. read the stats on that. it has higher cca, etc. much like you described. imho, one should always consider upgrading when replacing oem...especially with our electrics. however, i defer to my elder on this one.
