I agree. Logic tells me the cover holds the heat in and does not allow it to dissipate. However aluminum is a terrible insulator. I like the reduced brake dust part.
I rode these brakes hard in the summer, then jumped out and felt the calipers and they were not hot at all. That's why I ended up painting them with just rustoleum and they're just fine. Not an issue in my opinion with heat-doesn't seem to bet any to speak of.
