I had a small adventure last Friday night. My winter car, a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited caught on fire while I was driving. When I saw the smoke and the flames coming up from the sides, I jumped out and ran a safe distance and called 911. I had just filled it up with gas, had a new catalytic convertor installed and and an oil change the week before.

There were flames coming form the underside of the car about midway. The firefighters arrived, put the fire out and waited with me until the auto club arrived. They were very nice and even offered to let me sit in the truck to keep warm.

Long story short, I am waiting to hear what the damage is to the Jeep but I am being pressured by everyone around me to buy a sensible, all season vehicle. Unless my knight in shining armour arrives soon (where is he????), having two late model years cars is not in the picture for me. Maybe I should just move to San Jose where my son is now working!

I would like to hear someone tell me to keep the Crossfire, it is a big source of "smiles" for me.
