It has been years since I changed my own oil. Just tired of having someone in the back work on my car and I have no idea if it is being done properly. Or I could go to a jiffy lube and still can't watch these kids properly. I watch them do oil changes and they are too fast and careless. The only person that will do it correctly is me
This is what I do. I slide the filter off, and take the O rings off in order (Small to Big) and line them up as I do it on a piece of card board. Slide the new filter on and measure lay the new O rings above the old ones matching them up. Lube the new O rings and place them back on in reverse order (Big to Small). Double check filter is up as far as it can go and you're good to go.

BTW the order in which you take the O rings off doesn't matter. It's just my OCD kicking in that I do it a certain way everytime. I just know 2 of them are about the same size and I don't want to get them confused. Oh and yes, you will have a left over O ring (pending on where you get your filter)

Edit: Of course I just responded to a thread from August...
