When I got to the dealership , First thing I saw was the crossfire , and I immediately forgot about the boxster , the caveat was that the crossfire had a rebuild title , when they pulled the carfax , it did not have any major damage at all , not sure why the insurance totalled the care . Long story short , I ended up buying the car and so far I'm really impressed. I'm getting ready to take a long road trip from the northwest to the Midwest. I saw somewhere on the forum that the crossfire should use a certain type of oil ? If so , can someone please help me out here .
Here is a pic on my crossfire
From the Crossfire Owner's Manual;
Engine Oil:
Only use synthetic engine oils, approved to MB 229.3 or MB 229.5, such as
Mobil 1 SAE 0W-40. The FSS may not alert for an oil change at the proper
interval if an unapproved engine oil is used; engine damage and reduced
engine life may result.
There are 20 or so oils that meet MB 229.3 or MB 229.5 so you have a lot of choices, do a search and you'll find the complete list. Mobil 1 is the factory fill and is a good choice.
