my stock shifter was always tight. my MOMO became loose because i used the wrong insert, so it started to rock after about a month or so. i've since redone it with the right insert and its solid again --

if your stock **** is rocking, i would definitely take it off and try to reinstall the right way. or, worse case, you'll have to head over to the dealer. (best case... get a momo )
