Default Hit a big puddle - front wheel inside arch lining problem

Went through a big pool of water during a heavy storm at reasonable speed (say 40-50mph) on the highway the other day (I was going faster than I should of when I hit a big puddle of water across the road - but have to say the Crossfire handled the interuption very well - those nice wide tyres pump the water away very well )
But afterwards when I was parking I noticed some funny noises coming from under the car. It was handling ok but when turning tightly it was making a rubbing noise...I wondered if I'd done a shock absorber or something when I hit the puddle...
Checked it out this weekend and discovered that the inside front guard plastic lining had been pushed right in and buckled up - so when the front wheel was on hard lock it was rubbing on the inside guard lining. Oh oh I thought....
Fortunately I managed to ease the stove in guard out to its original shape and it wasn't cracked so it's popped back into place
Glad I found it and it wasn't something more serious
Anyone else had a similar issue?
