It's not worrying so much about the cost to insure the vehicle, but rather what would happen if you were to have an accident. In that case, unless you have added any mods to your insurance, they will only repair the car to original OEM condition. That means, for example, if one of your custom wheels gets trashed in an accident, they will replace that one wheel with an OEM wheel.
