I believe you could be right on that, since the whole mission of the Crossfire was to serve as a "halo" car for the Chrysler brand before the 300C appeared. It just never got the attention it deserved. And, it would not be the first time that Chrysler removed a "show car" from their production schedule. Remember the Prowler?

The only reason to assume that there could be another Crossfire is that it gives Mercedes a chance to spread out SLK component costs over a larger volume. With the SLK being revised this year, a Crossfire based off of the new SLK350 (instead of the old SLK320) would be absolutely killer.
