Mercedes costs are fine and while profit margins on some of there vehicles are slim (i.e. base C-class) they more then make up for it in profits on sales from say, there G-class line. (After driving one don't know why anyone in there right mind would shell out around $85k and up for a rugged box...but thats another topic...)

From my understanding the Crossfire was in a way a "spring cleaning" meaning that Mercedes could wind down and sell the remaining parts on the old R170 SLK while getting production and processes ready for the new R171 model.

Since I've also heard that the crossfire will be the last Chrysler product to get a chunk of MB parts...I will be highly shocked to see a '07 production Crossfire...
