I would not advise trying to connect two sirens on the same circuit. So, the replacement seems to be what you should and want to do. However, I have had the radio shack buzzer (tone mod) installed for almost three years without any problems with just solid wire wrapped to the relay pins, but they could be soldered. The mod can be removed in just a few minutes if one whats to restore the circuit to the original condition. It really is a simple inexpensive little mod.
