Default Re: Drove my dream car this afternoon!

Thanks Doc - Happy Holiday's to you too!

Well back from the test drive. I was pretty impressed with the car, salesman sure didn't describe the color right, it's Guardsman blue (more like our Aero Blue), much more to my liking than "trophy blue' which is like a washed out SSB the salesman told me. Peter Brock had something to do with this car, he's well known in Cobra circles and was apparently one of the designers of the Daytona Coupe which is basically the hardtop Cobra. I think he may have built the engine or his shop at least, Brock died in a race a while back. This car has a fi 347 with about 400 hp ( a punched out 302). I couldn't believe how smooth it ran, only managed to stall it out once. The car is sharp, like new, just over 2500 miles on it. There will have to be some changes if I get it, white ceramic side pipes and American Torque thrusts will have to go, side pipes will be changed to ceramic coated silver. Not sure what the guy did with the upper seat belt on the drivers side, that'll have to be re routed through the rear bulkhead and then there's the yellow slasher stripe on the drivers front fender, that'll have to go as well the chrome chip guards. Probably do 3m film on that area and the front end. Very impressed with the car, I put a deposit on it to hold it til Monday when my finance guy gets back, he has to approve it and I have to make my final decision. One way or another a nice way to spend another beautiful afternoon. As we were driving back to the place the sales guy said all these people think we are crazy (35 degrees in a roadster with no top) they have no idea how much fun we are having!
I leave you with that, have a great holiday.
