Any hints and tips on SRT maintainance? As I have just bought the car some pointers to what to look at would be grand.
Cooling pump, how can I determine if it is good or needs changing?
This Oil catch can business, is it really necessary to change?

Hi FUBU. Biggest maintenance cost I've had on my SRT-6 has been tires.
Even the regularly scheduled maintence has not been as costly. Keep a
check on your fluids (can't check the tranny, normally), and run a 92 or
better octane rated gasoline.

Your car, as you may know, will tell you when is is ready for regular
maintenance. You should check your brake pads, and check for any signs
of oil or water leaks. Might want to invest in some SS brake lines.

On the pump. you'll know if its bad if the supercharger works sometimes,
but not others (after having warmed up). Johnson pump is a good choice
for a replacement. As my car was under warranty, I let the service center
replace with OEM both times mine failed. It has now been several years
without a failure.

Catch can is optional, though it will help keep your engine cleaner.

Good luck, and a Merry Christmas to you!
