I know that this is an old thread but I see that it says something that is not quite correct.
If the trunk lid or a door is left open on my car (2004 coupe) the trunk light and interior lights will be switched off automatically after fifteen minutes. This is also mentioned in the manual.
I would imagine that the roadster has a similar feature.
