I'm sure Rob has already helped you out via email, but just to throw it out there for everyone to see:

The NA CAI install directions show a pair of vise grips being used to remove the screws holding the MAF to the N/A plastic MAF housing/elbow. I used channel locks which work great too. The screws lend themselves to being grabbed with channel locks/pliers/vise grips pretty well. I had much, much, much more trouble getting the elbow onto the throttle body in cold Colorado weather than getting the MAF out.

The actual screws are like security Torx (a star bit with a post in the middle) but have 5 splines rather than 6, if anyone wants to figure out what they're called (this means you can't use security Torx - I tried).
