Good job thinking outside the box. It sounds like a great idea. Most backup cam monitors have 2 channels so you could also have the rear view w/ the click of a switch (and an additional cam). I can't help much w/ selection, but when you get it perfected, I'd love to see a writeup/how to. Good luck with it.
