I think it is the fact that when they are ultra cold, and a stone or somethign else of decent mass comes off your tire, these things shatter. That is the best way to describe it in my case, but with them being the material and thickness they are, it is kind of surprising....

My six will be headed to the body shop this week. Garbage bag full of boxes and old clothes left some nice gouges in the lower lip of the bumper as well as "shattering" the right front splash shield. Belly pan may need to be replaced as well. Have to get her up on the lift and get a closer look.
