Re: Value Of Crossfire
I traded a Mercedes for my car. When I first started seeiing Crossfires, I thought it was way too much to pay for a Chrysler. A few years latter I took a closer look and realized it was a steal for a Mercedes if I didn't mind not having the MB Vin number and emblems. I think their value will improve when people realize it was built in Germany and is virtually all Mercedes. I have already started to notice that more and more people are becoming aware of the cars true DNA and wanting to take advantage of the bargain price. Heck, when I joined this forum we were arguing on here if our cars were 20% Mercedes! What we should be watching is is the value of the 2004 SLK320 vs. the 2004 Crossfire. If we see any closing of that gap, then the car has real potential. All old cars go up at some point. Will it be 10 year, 20 years or 40? When I bought my car, it would have taken another $10K to buy a similar SLK. I can only think of two cars that were esentially a Mercedes but sold by Chrysler and that is the Crossfire and the Sprinter. What is funny about the Sprinter is they changed the grille and now call it the Mercedes Sprinter.
I wonder what the V8's wil be worth?
Here is an interesting article about the future value of the Crossfire:

As far as the Esprit's go, their interiors fall apart and their timing belts cost a fortune to change. I also think having a four cylinder engine hurt them in the super car segment. I am still waiting for the V8 Esprit's to drop into my price range.
