Not to throw another variable into the mix but one thing that has been overlooks is the hub pilot diameter. MB uses a 66.56mm hub pilot whereas VW/Audi uses a 72mm hub pilot. Members have had issues before when buying rims made for a VW/audi as you're not centering the wheel on the hub but rather using the bolts to pull it to center. If you grew up in the 70's or you've ever driven a car with Cragar Slots, you know exactly what happens. No matter how hard you try to get them lined up perfectly centered, they will be off even if just a millimeter but that will translate to vibration when you're driving down the road.
