Sparky asked the same question that I was going to ask when I saw your post. The flywheel rotates close to the CPS and I have to ask if you managed to damaged the flywheel by raising the surface that passes under the sensor.
There is an actual tool that fits in both the holes that locks the flywheel, using a small screwdriver would make it rise to the top of the teeth and possibly make a burr and that would shave the sensor tip.
Do not fit the new sensor until you have addressed the burr if that's the case or you will ruin the new sensor.
