so yea i must have moved the flywheel somehow. the flywheel looks,rotates and sounds fine from underneath the car. I looked at it again. i doubt i damaged anything from just pinning it but it is a possibilty and it can be very costly. i need to get underneath and really look at it while someone tries to crank it again. Jerry said to check for wobbles. i'll make sure it rotates true before i install the sensor and wreck that one as well.
I think that 2mm (.080") away is way too much, I think that it is more likely in the region of .2mm (.008" if that), if your flywheel moved 2mm up and down you would here a rumbling noise because the engine would be ruined.
As I said earlier a burr would wipe out the sensor.
Edit
If the flywheel moved .2mm the engine (crankshaft) would be toast as well.
