OK, I see that light colored area to the right of the gap, that is a dent?
If it is a dent then you will have to take out the side panel, this is a pain as to remove it you have to release at least half of the rear panel behind the license plate. That enables the side panel to slide out from behind the rear panel, once that's out you will be able to pull the dented panel into shape.
