How can you change HP counting? HP is an old unit for engine output. It is defined as the power of 75 kilopond meter within 1 second -> 1HP = 75 kp*m/s
Since the SI units the engine output is counted in W (watt). 1W = 1 J/s = 1 Nm/s.
By doing some conversion of the old units to SI the result is 1HP = 0.7355kW or 1kW = 1.3596HP

All car specifications show nowerdays both HP an kW. HP is still in use because the number is higher and looks better. The Crossfire does 160kW equals 218HP. Now, what does sound better?
