I am familiar with the type that installs into a frost plug hole. I have, but never installed a type the fitted into a radiator return hose, this was a heat pump that used the warmed water to operate the pumping action. Clever but I could never be bothered to fit it.

Our engines warm up so quickly I wonder if they would do much good unless you lived in the far North.
