Kinda hard for me to understand, with the information provided thus far, that an entire thread gets dumped due to someone's ranting that became obtrusive and/or offensive to others. I would understand banning an individual for inappropriate postings, but not the entire thread where it was posted. The remainder of us didn't deserve that form of punishment. And besides, if only a 1 week banishment has been enforced, what guarantees did the Forum Moderator(s) get that it wouldn't occur again in another thread when the individual returns.

Apparently there is more detailed info that I'm not privy to which would explain all of this.
