Re: Peeling Paint in the Wheel Wells
I just finished fighting with Chrysler over the same thing. I have had my Xfire since the end of December and the paint was peeling like crazy. Took it to my dealer and was told that it was not under warranty because it was stone damage. Only stones I drove through was the cinders they use on the roads in the winter. I even documented the peeling with photos that clearly showed flecks of paint literally falling off the car. They were not convinced. I got the District rep involved. He also concurred that it was my fault the paint was falling off the car. Funny how I and my wife have driven the same roads through the same winters with many different cars and never had the paint peel off. It has to be expected that a car normally driven is going to experience some small stones hitting the area behind the wheels. If the paint they use cannot take these normal impacts the they should have provided some protection with mud flaps or some type of coating. Anyway to finish my story, the dealer finally repaired my paint, one time only, as a "favor" to me at their expense. It seemed a convenient way to shut me up without creating any record of the obvious problem.
