I just went out an looked at my spare alternator and the terminal for the battery cable is a bolt... nothing square about it. The only other connection is a plug in connector. The battery cable does have a flat connection with a 90 degree bend in it.... that connector fits in a molded in part around the terminal lug...

There should be nothing difficult in a swap out... pull the connector and remove one nut cover and nut... (plus the mounting bolts)
