Thumbs up Re: Blacked-out Coupe.

I give it a thumbs up. I like it. Has a badass look to it.

Black-outs and black wheels aren't anything I'd do to my cars. Guess it has something to do with being middle aged having grown up in the age of chrome and "mag wheels". Six months ago my daughter told me she had ordered a set of black rims for her 2nd gen RX-7 and I groaned a bit, suggesting she look at some rims that were black with some chrome in the dish to give them some depth. She looked at me and said, "yeah, that might be nice" and ordered the all black ones. KIDS! Well, they've been on her car a while now and they've really grown on me. I watch her drive away and think that the car looks nice with black wheels. Makes the car stand out from the ones with shiny chrome wheels. I guess it IS possible to teach an old dog new tricks - or new styles anyway.

I had the same initial thought when I saw your pictures. Sorta an emotional first impression that I didn't like it. Then after looking a little longer I found myself thinking the car looks very nice. Kinda gives it that mean/serious/fast look. Same goes for your caliper paint. I like the standards - yellow or red (did mine red) but I like the little flash of "zing" it gives your car. Makes her "yours", not "everyone elses" and I think that's cool.

Thanks for sharing your photos and keep us up to date on any tweeks you may make to the look. Yeah, I'm getting sick of winter too. I wash my car and get her looking awesome, and the next day the weather turns to crap and she's dirty again!

While this doesn't apply to your car - I absolutely love Kim's comment about personalization gone wild making a car look like a dollar store disco ball. Yeeeeeahhh! Takes me right back to the days of rainbow tape! Anyone remember THAT stuff and the hedious things people did to their cars with it!!?? Ok, I admit I did have a little on my '68 Chevelle but....
