I tend to agree on trying to get a lower price.

I didn't check the Book Value, but I would guess that an Xfire with 170k and 8 years would be somewhat lower than $5k (if it shows any value at all).

I'm sure for insurance replacement, it ain't that high.

One decent issue and new tires after purchase, could run in the $2k to $3k range.

Parts and getting good labor, if your not handy, do not come cheap with car.

Then the optimist in me says "you only pass this way once", and if the Seller is local and you got good karma with the situation, put a value on that, and go for it.

Oh, I would have a Xfire or MB mechanic check it out before purchase, check for oil in the splash pan, or fluid around the transmission, common issues, but usually not show stoppers...
