Just to give you a heads up, I'm looking at that car as well. Not for a daily driver but rather to build a race car out of. Not trying to scare you away from it but if you're looking for a cheap thrill and not have any extra expenses after the purchase, this car probably isn't your ticket. They are fun cars but they are not cheap to fix or maintain and 172k is starting to get to that point where you might be fine for another 20k miles or you might have part after part break or go bad right away. They're not Porsche expensive but they are a Mercedes under the fancier sheet metal so expect to pay a premium for parts and service. If I weren't looking for something to pull the motor out of and stuff in a big AMG engine, I'd try to find one with fewer miles and I would recommend the same to you. Good luck with your offer and if you do buy the car, you'll love it along with all the people here on the forum. We're all one big family and the camaraderie amongst members is second to none.
